You are lying to yourself

Have you ever wondered why its difficult to do things you really enjoy? Does that seem like a contradiction?

Ever sat down to read a book and discovered you were extremely distracted? Or how about how you never seem to be in the “mood’ to paint these days?

“If you love something, you will find it easy to do” is one of the worst lies you can tell yourself.

No one wakes up one fine day at the age of 27 and types out a best selling novel. You have to work at your passions and to be able to really enjoy them.

So if you love writing and your excuse is that you are not in the “mood” or “flow”, start writing, the mood will come.

In relationships this principle is called “passion follows actions” and in religion; “orthodoxy follows orthopraxy”.

So, if you love writing, trekking, painting, singing, and you find that it doesn’t “flow”, its because there’s a huge dam of inactivity sitting across it.

If you Love something, work at it.

PS: Most of my posts are self directed, the narcissistic exhibitionist I am.
PS2: #Novelrace folks, WRITE, the novel will pour out.
